"The Black Professionals Leadership Program started out with a simple premise: Black students belong in law schools too and law schools ought to give careful thought to their needs and wellness."
Since 2021, the Black Professionals Leadership (BPL) Program has been providing holistic mentorship and professional support to Black law students. Commencing in the University of Victoria with a goal to foster equity, diversity, and inclusion for Black law students, BPL has continued to create support frameworks to enhance learning, promote wellness and improve Black student retention in the legal profession while addressing the barriers to their access to employment and articling opportunities.
